Adult Education

Many of our members did not have formal religious training in their youth. Each year we offer classes in reading Hebrew and learning how to read from the Torah and Haftorah. Other courses are offered as well. Some of our members culminate their education with an adult Bar or Bat Mitzvah.

Currently, a class in reading Hebrew is ongoing at Temple Emanu-El (29 Dayton Rd., Waterford), taught by Ella Sackett.  This class is based on the NJOP Hebrew Reading Level 1 class curriculum.  To register, or for more information, please contact the Beth El office at (860) 442-0418.  All participants are required to be vaccinated and boosted to attend.
