Children's Programs

Our children are our future and Congregation Beth El wants to rear our youth to be passionate and thoughtful stewards of our heritage.  Children are welcomed at all congregational functions and are encouraged to participate in an age-appropriate manner in Shabbat and holiday observance and in community gatherings.

We also work with PJ Library to create holiday-centered programming for our youngest learners and with the local BBYO chapter to involve our teens in synagogue life.

We offer the option of enrolling your children in a religious school where Beth El students participate in one-on-one and seminar-style classes with Rabbi Kideckel in addition to the standard coursework.   Please contact the Beth El office for enrollment information.

Young people preparing for their bar or bat mitzvah work with the rabbi on an individualized basis to prepare for their special day and to take on the expanded role in communal Jewish life that is expected of them following completion of their bar or bat mitzvah ceremony.

Finally, Beth El youth participate in the regional Hebrew High School run by the local Federation and in the Federation's non-denominational B'nai Brith Youth Organization (BBYO) programming.
